Mercury Marine’s Land ‘N’ Sea facility earns Brunswick safety award
Suwannee, GA (May 31, 2019) – Mercury Marine’s Land ‘N’ Sea distribution facility in Suwannee, Georgia has been presented with the Brunswick Safety Leadership Award and a check for $10,000 for its commitment to safety leading to no lost-time since 2016 and a reduced recordable rate of 75 percent during that same period of time.
Winners of the award are given the opportunity to donate the check to a local charity and the Suwannee team has selected Make-A-Wish Georgia as the recipient of the $10,000 donation. Brunswick (NYSE:BC) CEO Dave Foulkes was on hand to help present the check to Make-A-Wish and celebrate the team’s commitment to safety.
“Through continued focus on driving safety through the workforce, our Suwannee team has made incredible strides focusing on enhanced employee participation, training, vehicle, and pedestrian flow as well as a commitment to 5S+1,” said Jim Sutton, Mercury Marine director of safety and occupational health.
The distribution facility in Georgia employs 40 people between Mercury and Land ‘N’ Sea.
