Brunswick Announces Organizational Changes
LAKE FOREST, Ill., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) today announced several organizational changes aimed at both strengthening its operations outside of the United States, while ensuring the continued integrity and quality of its Hatteras Collection, makers of several leading brands of yachts and sportfishing boats.
Effective immediately, William Naumann, who retired from Hatteras in 2006, will become chairman of the Hatteras Collection where he will lead efforts to strengthen relations with dealers, customers, and suppliers. In addition, he will also be responsible for government and public affairs, helping maintain a winning attitude with our employee base, and providing valuable advice on personnel, product and strategic issues.
James Meyer, formerly vice president -- product development, supply chain and business integration for the Brunswick Boat Group, will become president -- Hatteras Collection, replacing Keri Theophilus. Both Meyer and Naumann will report to Dustan E. McCoy, Brunswick's chairman and chief executive officer.
Theophilus has accepted a new assignment in Brunswick International, which will be announced shortly. He will report to John Pfeifer, president -- Brunswick Marine in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
"These actions are a testament to the managerial bench strength and resources we have at our disposal at Brunswick, both from within and outside the company," McCoy said. "Jim Meyer has made significant contributions to our efforts to integrate our entire marine product portfolio, streamline our supply chain and improve our product quality. Jim has also been providing great leadership to our Sealine brand in Europe as it develops new models and dealer markets.
"Bill Naumann, meanwhile, has been kind enough to accept our invitation to set aside his retirement and rejoin Brunswick, where his experience and knowledge of Hatteras' unique legacy will be a major asset as we deal with these tough economic times. We are confident that this tandem will continue to lead the brands of the Hatteras collection -- Hatteras, Cabo and Albemarle -- into the future.
"Further, these moves allow us to direct Keri Theophilus' wealth of experience and knowledge in the international business arena as we grow our business outside of the United States," McCoy said.
Meyer, Theophilus and Naumann are all accomplished operating executives. Prior to joining Brunswick in 2006, Meyer most recently had been with Ford Motor Company. Theophilus, who joined Brunswick in 2007, had most recently worked for Samsung Petrochemicals, a joint venture between BP and Samsung based in Seoul, Korea. Naumann, who led Hatteras for nine years, recently had been heading up a number of civic and philanthropic activities in retirement.
