Brunswick Corporation : Brunswick Public Foundation Awards Local United Way Grants for 2016
LAKE FOREST, Ill. Oct. 31, 2016 - The Brunswick Public Foundation, a not-for- profit corporation, today announced grants totaling $105,000 to local United Way organizations that serve areas where many employees of Brunswick and its operating units work and live. These grants are in addition to employee contributions gathered during local fundraising drives. United Way organizations receiving grants included the Fond du Lac Area United Way and Oshkosh Area United Way, both in Wisconsin; the Stillwater Area United Way in Oklahoma, and the United Way of the Lakeshore, serving Muskegon County in Michigan. Recently, the Brunswick Public Foundation also distributed an additional $227,000 in charitable grants for 2016. Recipients included the Alliance for the Great Lakes, American Rivers, Fish America, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and the Ocean Conservancy. Established in 1997, the Brunswick Public Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that supports community development primarily through contributions to local United Way organizations. In addition, the Foundation supports organizations that enhance the country's water resources for recreational use by the public.
