The Lund Rebel XL is back for 2019 Boat Show Season
New York Mills, Minn., Jan. 18, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lund reintroduces the 1650 Rebel XL, one of the brand’s iconic 16-foot fishing boat models, just in time for the 2019 boat show season. The Rebel XL has always been known as one of the best entry-level fishing boats on the market. Anglers looking for one of the most durable and serious fishing boats are going to love the fact that the Lund 1650 Rebel XL comes in either a tiller, side console (SS), or full windshield (Sport) and is back with some great new features.
Maximizing storage is one of Lund’s many strengths in the industry, and the extensive bow storage is second to none in this 16-foot, 7-inch model. In order to utilize every free inch of space, Lund has put four storage compartments in the bow. Anglers can store everything from tackle trays, to life jackets, to trolling motor batteries to keep everything out of the way while fishing from the bow. There’s even a 16-gallon (37- inch) bow livewell with a cutout to store a bait bucket, so you can keep your catch or bait fresh all day.
In the cockpit area there’s more space for fishing equipment with convenient rod storage compartments on both sides, providing easy access to all your rods. You can even store rods over 8 feet long, something that is extremely tough to find in a 16-foot fishing boat. There’s also an optional rear flip seat for two additional anglers, or flip it down and you’ve more than doubled the size of the rear casting platform.
In both the side console and full windshield there are sporty black consoles with plenty of room for fishing electronics, an optional stereo and built-in drink holders. In the tiller model, at your fingertips there’s a rear command console that holds multiple tackle trays, fishing tools and a place to mount your electronics.
Other great features of the 1650 Rebel XL include a travel cover to keep your boat clean all year long, the boat is small enough to fit in most garages, and is easily towed to hard-to-reach waters. It’s a go-anywhere type of boat that is feature-rich yet wallet-friendly, and is easily launched by a single angler.
