Brunswick Corporation : Brunswick Awards Scholarships to Children of Marine Dealership Employees

METTAWA, Ill., Sept. 13, 2018 - Brunswick Corporation's (NYSE: BC) dealer services team, Brunswick Dealer Advantage, and the Brunswick Foundation, recently announced the winners of the 2018 Brunswick Foundation Dealer Sons and Daughters Scholarship program.  A one-year, $2,000 college scholarship was awarded to each of 30 deserving students of Brunswick dealer families from both the U.S. and Canada.

With a focus on academic excellence, leadership capabilities and community involvement, the Brunswick Foundation Dealer Sons and Daughters Scholarship program is available to children of full-time employees at Brunswick marine dealerships.  Recipients must be 23 or younger and attending an undergraduate college, university, or vocational school. 

"These scholarships have allowed me to pursue my education without potentially burdening my family with the expenses," said scholarship winner Michael Zack, whose father, Steve Zack, is a master technician at Basa's Marine, Inc. in Bolingbrook, Ill. "As such, I am thankful for being awarded scholarships by the Brunswick Foundation, as they have helped me to achieve my goals."

Brunswick Dealer Advantage and the Brunswick Foundation have awarded over $600,000 during the past 11 years to more than 300 students from Brunswick marine dealerships in the United States and Canada. This year's scholarship recipients were chosen by an independent committee of academic professionals from leading Midwest universities.

"I am so grateful to Brunswick for awarding my granddaughter, Amelia Haydel, with a scholarship this year," said Diane Haydel, owner of Metro Boating in Harvey, La.  Amelia's father, George Haydel III, is the vice president and general manager at Metro Boating, and also the third generation working at the dealership. "Our family has benefited from the generous support this scholarship provides, as Amelia continues her academic study in the field of medicine."
