AquaPalooza® Hits The Airwaves

Relive the Good Times with CMT's Concert Special,

“AquaPalooza on Lake Martin ”

Knoxville , Tenn. – August 17, 2009 – If you weren't able to make it to the AquaPalooza 2009 Signature Event at Lake Martin, or if you just want to relive the good times you had there, you won't want to miss CMT's special, “AquaPalooza on Lake Martin .” Scheduled to air at 8 p.m. ET/PT on September 4, the 90-minute show on CMT captures country superstar Alan Jackson as he sings feel-good hits like “It's Five O'Clock Somewhere,” “Summertime Blues” and “Pop a Top” to the more than 4,000 boats and 35,000 people in attendance at the waterside concert.

“We are extremely pleased at how things turned out at our AquaPalooza Signature Event this year. CMT's decision to tape and broadcast the event shows how much of an impact we're making not just in the boating industry but in living rooms across the country,” said Rob Noyes, vice president of marketing for Sea Ray. “ AquaPalooza is about sun and fun, great music, and togetherness with family and friends. That's why it is open to all boaters and non-boaters, not just Sea Ray owners, and it will always stay that way.”

The AquaPalooza 2009 Signature Event event, held July 24 to 26 at Lake Martin , Ala. , featured a concert by Jackson, as well as up-and-coming artists Matt Stillwell, the Carter Twins, Caitlin and Will, and Jypsi. Boats were packed stem to stern for over a mile, and many fans donned their inner tubes and water noodles to paddle close to the water-pit at the bottom of the stage.  Jackson pulled up to the dock at the Russell Lands ' Kowaliga Marina in his 1923 Hacker Craft and played hit songs from his current platinum album, “Good Time.” During the show, Jackson spoke movingly about childhood visits to Lake Martin with his family. Jackson 's encore included a performance of the Hank Williams classic “Kaw-Liga,” which Williams penned at his historic cabin on the lake.

The event not only provided a good time for all, but also energized the boating community. “Thank you for doing this,” posted AquaPalooza attendee Jonathan Kinsely on Sea Ray's Facebook page. “ You are doing the boating world a great service.” Attendee Windy Bearden Russell agreed. “What an awesome, well-organized, great time,” she said. “Alan Jackson gave us a great show!”

Plans are already under way for AquaPalooza 2010, which promises to make just as big a splash as the past four events.
